Back lever with false grip?

Recommended Posts

The topic speaks for itself.

BL with false grip would make it easier to combine BL with other skils, but are there any strenght benefits or other benefits?

In general, should BL be trained with false grip?

It is a very good drill; for advanced athletes.  You are not ready.

Follow up question: what is a good/strong BL?

I do 5s hold then pull to inverted hang, usually for 3-5reps.

Before BL, I would be far more concerned with your shoulder extension strength and ROM.

So true! Following this advice will save a lot of injuries!

Just because you can do it doesn't mean you are ready for it.

What is also important to understand that it is completely unnecessary to EVER have a biceps tear from BL work.  This is symptomatic of poorly designed training.
