Stretching Cold...

I've heard many folks say and read in a few places that stretching cold is a bad idea because of the resiliency of the muscle in a state of low oxygen.  What do you guys say?

It will take longer to get to your maximum stretch starting cold, and you certainly shouldn't force it.

There is a line of thought that believes cold stretching will have more lasting results though. I did it quite a bit when I was younger and it seemed that way to me then.
