Just like the title said....

I wonder if the cause is due to a lot protracted work more than retracted work

I wonder if each fsp have the right atagonis work

Plance x front lever

Front lever x planche...back lever?

Planche x vsit....manna?

HANDSTAND x manna?

Thank you

It is because gymnasts do so much more hollow work than arch work, and more than a few have it :)

The technical name is kyphosis.

The advantage of GB over competitive training is that we can maintain a balanced body, because we are not burdened by earning points in competition. All the big points are in protracted , hollow positions.

Too much of anything is bad :)

Thank you Josh....

Is protracted always mean hollow?

Backlever is performed hollow

Planche too

Handstand too

V sit also

Then what FSP performed in arch position?

No, protracted refers to the scapula, hollow refers to the spinal shape.

When we say hollow body, or hollow for short, we mean as looking from the front. Hollow back is an arched back.

Usually when you have a hollow body you will also be protracted. For our purposes here, you can assume that any time you are in a hollow you will be protracted.

... Hollow back is an arched back ...

This is incorrect.  A hollow back means just that; "hollow" not arched.

To clear this up for anyone unfamiliar with gymnastics lingo: "hollow" and "arched" are both two terms with precise meanings in gymnastics. A "hollow" body position is one in which the upper back is slightly rounded, bringing the head and shoulders forward and tucking the chest in. A good planche or maltese is performed with a hollow body. An 'arched' body position is the opposite of the hollow: the upper back is rounded the other way, causing the chest to stick out and the head to move back. In a good front handspring, the gymnast will be arched during the flight phase. In both positions the lower back remains straight to provide support.
