I have no access to parallel bars at my house, so I have been doing dips in the kitchen between two counters with my palms flat. Im just wondering if this is harmful in anyway, thanks.

If you are worried about it that much you could always use two chairs facing back to back. But no i do not believe palms flat will effect you negitivly in any way

Glad you asked this, Hound. I do my dips on two 4 feet tall 4x4's pounded into the ground, and my palms are always flat.

The main thing is that you will not get the benefit of the rings turned out position at the top of the dip. If you are not yet prepared for ring work and are substituting these for pbar dips, there will not be much of a difference. The main thing is a difference in wrist preparation, but thats pretty negligible as the progression is mainly focused on the upper body strength rather than wrists specifically.
