It's seems it's almost become a crime to tell you child No. I just read a story of a mother in a store where the child was begging for a candy bar and the mother said no, after the 10th time she administered some very minor corporal punishment and the cashier called the police on her. Still I think more as you also point out more often than not the issue is lack of effort on the adults part. And a great del of effort on the advertisers part.
