boofis
Hey all, So I have been training for a couple of months now and have been following the progression expressed on this forum of: Support hold < Dips < Muscle ups < Forward roll M/U < Press shoulderstand < Forward roll Press shoulder stand. I am currently pondering the forward roll M/U, my main query though is, at what stage should one feel confident enough to move on knowing that a solid enough base has been built on the previous skill? My prog. thus far has been (General guide aimed for 3-5 reps x 4 sets per session):Support hold: At the start I couldn't hold a support hold due to shakiness. Now I can hold with elbows straight and hands turned out for ~1min. So then I added in dips. Couldn't do a bulgarian dip at the beginning. Could manage 2 regular dips but with hands in very close to sides and still super shaky. Now I do 4 bulgarian dips per set. So I added in muscle ups. Muscle ups I couldn't do at the beginning. Now I can do 2, sometimes 3 lol. They're a big weakness so I'm anticipating spending a while on these. I used to get tendonitis in my elbows from just taking too many sips of my coffee lol so I've tried to take the transition training slowly and already am seeing positive carry over into the strength of my elbow joint. So there we have it, have I been developing adequate strength on previous skills or should I aim for more reps etc.? I should add, that this work is all supplementary kind of stuff as the majority of my training is based around Ring Series 1 and Front and Back levers. Any input would be swell!
