Bobby B
Warning: **You are reading what is possibly a silly question**I'm doing a stretching routing each Wednesday. Would there be any issues in also performing a HIIT session immediately afterwards that would be detrimental to the stretching session? e.g. sprints, sandbag, burpees etcI just don't know if there is a general rule with pairing stretching with other activities. Kinda like how there's a general rule in performing skill work when not fatigued.
Rikke Olsen
Why not just do it the other way around?Problem with stretching prior to a workout is that it depresses the nervous system your body gets more protective of itself, limiting maximal output. (Check out Slizz's "Fox your shoulder pain" on youtube.)

Philip Chubb
If you possibly want to be injured, then sure. Better the other way around. The stretching will also help calm your CNS back down.
Quick Start Test Smith
Bissen, true, but it can be useful to passively stretch certain muscles to relieve stress on a specific joint before a heavy lift. Definitely not a lot, though. You can see a good example of this in Wendler's 5/3/1 program.
