305pelusa
Hi everyone!Quick question. For the HLL Half, where the legs only go up to parallel with the ground, should the lower back be pressed down against the wall?I understand when you go up all the way, the lower back isn't in contact (only the upper back), but if you only lift up to parallel, should you keep the lower back pressed against the wall (or stall bars, if that's what you're using)??Thanks! Ian Legrow
Yes. Your lower back should only come off after you get to the V position and higher
Blairbob
To note, that video is from L to V though over the course of the set of reps V to L is performed I prefer when gymnasts perform a HLL that they start with the lower back pressed into the stall bars or tucked under with a pelvic tilt so their body is slightly hollow with a slight angle at the hips versus being completely flat open. This eliminates them from just allowing their lower back and hip flexors to get them to horizontal which is honestly is very simple when starting with the lower back arched.
