Ian Legrow
Oddly enough, I keep hearing that the Straddle Handstand is easier becasue your center of gravity is better. Oddly enough however, I have been able to hold a tight solid handstand for over 30s but i cannot for the life of me hold a straddle. Do i just need to practice it more?>
Blairbob
Probably. Just make sure you aren't piking or arching with our hips while doing it.
palmcron
And keep the tension in your legs. Maybe post a video, then there might be even more advice.
jl5555
When separating the legs most people tend to lose the tension in their backs causing the HS to collapse. As mentioned above maintain the tension throughout including your legs and you should be fine. Try to feel as though you are actively pushing your feet towards the outer walls. Straddle HS is great because it forces you to think about side body tension as well especially when you begin dipping your toes to the floor on either side and pulling your legs back vertical.
