Colibri
My passion in life is martial arts. I take Wing Chun Kung Fu classes and for this, speed is a necessary factor. However, reading around here and other sites, it mentions that strength work (specifically isometric/static strength exercises) is detrimental to speed. I am using killroy70's basic template with a few other modifications, but essentially, my workout looks like:WarmupFSP work: 4-5 FSPs FBE work: 2 FBEStretching/FinishWill this be harmful to whatever speed I have right now? I might need to include plyometrics in my workout.Any experience/advice? Thanks.
Blairbob
First, watch this.Y0ge2TYDllw http://www.ericcressey.com/the-absolute-strength-to-absolute-speed-continuum Here is the original url to that video. However, you cannot display in 240p for those on slower connections (like me) unless you want to buffer it and come back to it. To sum, much of your Wing Chun will satisfy for your need for "speed" work while BtGB will satisfy your need for absolute strength work.
