newguy5000
For my next cycle i am moving into basic strength in the fundamental bodyweight movements. My plan is to do 2 x 5 with the first set being a Ring / bodyweight type progression and the second being a weighted version. For example dips. Set 1 x 5 is dips on rings the second set is weighted dips on bars. For pull ups i will do false grip pulls on the rings as high as i can pull. For second set weighted pull ups on the bar. You get the idea.Anyway i got to thinking about the psuedo planche pushups and i was wondering is there any point in trying to mimmic the low placement of the hands of this movement with a dumbell bench press? not as a replacement but as a supplementary movement. Seiji
You can do it but it's pretty hard and only really works the arms, compared to the actual thing which uses the rest of the muscles you need for planche.I tried it for a while, didn't get very far. Then again, I didn't have a good program set up anyways.
