Really quick question; how do you know when to progress from the MSH to the elevated MSH?

When you can easily press your hips a significant amount away from your arms while keeping your back flat. There will come a point where you can press your hips far enough away that to keep pressing them you'll feel that you need to raise the legs as you press. Just remember that it's not a sudden raise of the legs, the more you are able to press forward the more you raise your legs. Just raising the legs for the sake of raising them will get you a split v-sit and not much else.
