Variation of Chest Roll to HeS

Hi guys,

I cannot figure out the chest roll to HeS technique in the MPPr progression without smacking my face in the ground. Which I am sure would improve my looks! However I saw a video on youtube from a yoga series where a girl went from a HeS to frog stand. I tried this and feel I have good control over going from frog stand to HeS to frog stand. In my head it seems a similar movement but I was just wondering if this was a suitable substitute please?

I'm not sure that would give the same benefit. But to be sure, I'll try it when I get into the gym. I have done the chest roll from a double elbow lever before. I find that usually keeps my face high enough to keep it from smacking the floor. Perhaps also try negatives? That might help you get strong enough to push off the ground before your face gets near it.

Try doing handstand pushups stomach to wall, curling your back at the bottom allowing you to touch your chest to the floor.
