Guest ilove2workout28
For planches and handstands, when should someone go from static to doing push ups?
Joshua Naterman
Well, that's sort of an impossible question to answer, but the short version is "whenever you can do so with perfect form." If you can't hold the static position, you certainly won't be able to do full ROM PL push ups. BtGB will show you exactly where in your progressions you would begin to work these. I don't think I would bother trying planche push ups in any particular progression until I could hold it for 15s at least.Handstands are kind of the opposite because holding a handstand is much easier than pushing up into one. For these, you also follow the progressions in BtGB. In my case, I couldn't do HeSPU until I had a 45s wall handstand. I did not use the box versions but that's just me. I would suggest doing exactly as the book says.
