So true and neck issues run rampant as people start over reaching and pushing faster then they should. Good physic there. Always look for one that think macro as well as micro. Often the injury or pain is a consequence / symptom of a bigger fundamental movement issue.

Also if you have knots and bad tissue lightly work it before stretching or training. Gotta break the bad pattern in order to relearn the correct one. Also if you think you're balance symmetrically try some half kneeling work...
