Johan Hägg
Im beginning to convince myself that buying foundation 1 would be a good thing for me. i do have some questions though that I’m sure you great people can answer. 1. Where does the road from F1 end and F2 begin? What I mean is the foundation series divided with progressions? Like after F1 I should have achieved tuck planche etc? 2. Is there a way to integrate Foundation series in an existing body weight push-pull split where I’m focusing a lot on basic strengthbuilding movements like pull-up-variations, pushup/dip variations etc or would it be too taxing? Hmm I guess that’s it for the moment. thanks in advance

To best answer both your questions, let me first mention that the Foundation courses were designed for one main reason. To physically prepare your muscles, joints, and connective tissue for mover advanced work down the road. With this being said, F1 focuses primarily on regaining mobility through all your joints while improving recover quickly between work sets. This is known as work capacity. While we cannot specifically mention specific course material in this thread, I will say that you will most certainly be challenged with F1. In terms of integrating the GB courses into a pre existing exercise program. We generally recommend prioritizing your gymnastics training in the beginning while your body adapts to the new stimulus. Over time you can begin to incorporate other things into your training program. I will warn you, however, Foundation 2 has plenty of pull up and dip variations waiting for you once you complete F1
Johan Hägg
@Mikey Cunanan thank you for your answer! I understand that program specifics can’t be open information so I appreciate you explaining the way you could. i think my main concern is if I start F1, which I’m fairly certain I will, that I will loose strength, while working on F1 content, that I’ve worked so hard to build during many years of training. maybe that’s a very short term view of me, but that’s a concern since I think I’ve achieved so much already, even tho I’m certain I have many weak links that needs to be corrected. Then I realized that the Foundation courses actually had the opposite effect on my strength. I lost some strength initially, but what I got back in return were superior mobility and joint integrity. Which, in turn, lead to strength gains that I never thought possible when I first started. Once you start the courses you will understand what I am talking about. But you have to just feel the difference to believe it.

I used to do the gym (weight training) 6 days a week before I started GST. I was concerned just as you are right now. In the beginning of GST I still kept in some gym stuff, which I then, little by little, completely eliminated because it was completely unnecessary. Now I only do GST and I am stronger and leaner than ever. Cheers, good luck! You are going to love it. The best thing that can happen to your fitness life :-) 2
