Lorin Sabin
Coach Sommer mentioned a pre-training warm up on the Tim Ferris Show podcast he uses for his athletes that preps connective tissue. Is this warm up located anywhere? I coach youth soccer and I'm interested in looking it over and potentially adapting it for our athletes. ACL tears and ankle connective tissue injuries are common for HS age soccer players as their bodies physically mature. Existing soccer related warm ups prepare muscle tissue but don't fully address mobility or connective tissue needs.
Everett Carroll
Hi Lorin, The exercises Coach Sommer was referring to are found in the Single Leg Squat progressions from the Foundation One and Foundation Two Courses. All of those SLS progressions can be safely incorporated into a warm-up routine after mastery. There are more details on this in the Foundation One/Two forum subsections that students have access to.
