What's an average amount of time that you have seen it take to develop giants on rings and bars and what kind of daily/weekly work schedule of swinging practice does it take to get there?

Clean giants on rings and bar approximately (looking their development from my kids) 4-5 years, if you begin early when the weight it is low and the mobility it is perfect.

it depends on the gymnast, on the apparatus, on the schedule of the competition and on the other skills the gymnast has to develop in the period, there is no fixed time.

What would you recommend if those were the only 2 skills being trained...ring giants and bar giants?

As much as can be done without pain while having fun. :)

Think about how kids learn things on the playground, they'll try something new until they get bored or feel discomfort.
