XXXIV
We are beginning BtGB, but also will begin with rings. If we follow the various movements and static positions from BtGB, will there be a danger of muscle imbalance? Reading through some of the Stickys, we came across this idea of muscle imbalance. When considering Ring Strength and muscle imbalance, what kinds of things should we avoid (or avoid leaving out of our conditioning) to maintain good muscle balance? If this has already been addressed and we missed it, a link to the discussion would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.
braindx
Make sure you have as much pulling work as you do pushing work & at least one horizontal pulling exercise every workout. If you follow this rule you should be fine. I would suggest, however, doing some rotator work every once in a while for your external rotators.

XXXIV
Both of you have suggested rotator work as part of muscle balance. What kind of exercises fall under rotator work?
braindx
Both of you have suggested rotator work as part of muscle balance. What kind of exercises fall under rotator work?External rotations with DBs or bands.Middle part of the cuban press, side lying external rotation, etc.Usually internal is already strong since we do a lot of stuff in front of the body.
