Glute flexibility for (half) Straddle planche

Well, i'm trying to "re-learn" the straddle planche after a shoulder injury and one of the exercises i'm doing to recover my previous strength is half straddle planche(stradle planche but with bent legs). Also doing bent arm version of this movement.

But the problem is : whenever i try to put my legs up i feel a imense cramp in my glutes and have to stop the exercise, i think it's a flexibility/mobility problem and my limited english knowlege will not allow me to try a further research on this topic. What should i do to fix this problem?

You have weak glutes, i suggest you to follow the foundations planche program. it has progressive glutes strength development. also remember that if you have tight hips flexor and tight groin muscles you have low possibility to open the legs.

You need to train the medial glutes along with the small rotators of your hips.

Pistols mostly train glute Minimus/maximus as far as glutes are concerned

Which exercises would be good for this kind of strenght then?as i said, my limited english knowledge won't allow me to give a good research on those things.

Medial glute conditioning is extensively in the Foundation Series; specifically the integrated mobility for straddle planche.

And by extensive Coach means he designed Foundations to CRUSH medial glute weakness, other than Arch Holds the medial glute work I found to be VERY challenging!  Very easy to "cheat" myself as well.

My advice get Foundations and start plugging away!
