Sets & Reps Confusion for Static Holds Convention

1) An eleven second maximum hold divided by two equals a tuck planche "rep" of approximately six seconds.

1 rep = 6 sec hold

2) Sixty seconds total work time divided by six seconds equals ten sets.

Total Work Time = 10 reps? or 10 sets? (Its as if the reps have become sets).

3) You will perform ten sets of six seconds. Xxxxxxxx

10 x 6 sec holds = Total Work Time

4) Try to keep recovery periods between the sets reasonably short ; forty five to ninety seconds max.

REST PERIOD = 45 to 90 sec

So how does it go?

6 sec hold - REST PERIOD - 6 sec hold

OR

6 sec hold - 6 sec hold - 6 sec hold - 6 sec hold - .... 10 times - REST PERIOD

The reps & sets have left me confused based on the text in the Book.

Also, is there a place that shows / points out how the WOD & Other workout ACRONYMS are broken down specific to Gymnastic Bodies workouts?

A x B x C x Exercise Name

I am only used to typical weights Sets Conventions.

12, 10, 8 reps for 3 x 20 lb Dumbells for Exercise A

Or

3 Sets of 20, 25, 30 lbs Dumbells Consecutively

for that type right there its 6 rest 6 rest 6 rest etc untill the total time in the hold =60seconds

so say for example you can hold a frogstand for 20 seconds max.. divide that by 2 and you have 10 second work sets.

so you would do 6 sets of 10 seconds so again your total time is 60 seconds in that hold..

in traditional weight training format i look at it like this.. 6x10s

once you have reached your 60 second mark.. you are done with that static hold.

hope that helps

titan.. 4x15s if your going for the 60's total time Static Strength style..

or if your doing Steady State, move on to the next progression when you can hold the static hold for 15s..

make sure to keep good form regardless of what method you are you are using.
