Travis Widmann
Hello, all. As it says in the title, I'm in the process of healing a boxer's fracture in the fifth metacarpal of my right hand. Splint came off a couple days ago and I've been doing daily physical therapy since. Thing is, I just don't have the funds to frequent a professional at this stage beyond the initial suggestions at the hand clinic. Considering it's my dominant hand I'm dealing with I want to do this right. So I'm looking for advice from anyone with any kind of knowledge or experience with this sort of thing. Or for information or resources I might not be aware of. I'm new to all this. It's my first broken bone. Range of motion is limited in my ring and especially pinky finger. There's still swelling around the area of the original break. My physical therapy consists of gentle stretching and light strengthening exercises for flexion and extension, as well as for the wrist. I ice throughout the day.
