mgebhard
I'm working on getting a front lever and can only hold the advanced tuck front lever maybe 10-15 sec. But I've been playing around some and started doing 'jumping' front levers on a bar about 6' off the ground. Maybe this is obvious, but the way it works is to grip the bar with arms straight, lean back with the body straight and the feet on the ground a foot or two in front of the bar. Then with as little jump from the feet as possible, pull up to a front lever. I try to pause at horizontal but I can't really. The body tension and positioning feels like a good training stimulus, though. I've thought that this is pretty much analogous to jumping pullups that often get prescribed when regular pullups are too hard.Is this a productive way to train for a front lever, mixed in with static holds as well? Or should I stick with just static holds.
Coach Sommer
Jumping into front levers is a great exercise; and even better when mixed with static holds.Yours in Fitness,Coach Sommer
