Health benefits of static training?

Recommended Posts

Besides increasing strength, are there other health benefits associated with static training?

 

You hear about the different ways other forms of exercise benefit a person such as improvements in cardio heath, bone density, fat loss, etc, etc, but are there any general health benefits associated with static training?

Well, I know maximal isometric contractions can make blood pressure shoot through the roof, but that's generally considered a bad thing....
