What do you think to Ido Portal's method of progression?

I read on his facebook page that you should work primarily on one skill until you have got to a certain progression, i.e. straddle planche, then focus your time on something else doing the minimum amount possible to maintain your straddle planche, then when you get to a certain progression in your current move, i.e. straddle front lever, go back to planche and do the basic minimum to maintain your straddle front lever, etc.

Not the best approach for beginners. Once you are advanced skills will take a lot of time and focus depending on your time constraints you may have to dedicate training to them. At the straddle planche level this should not be necessary.

As an occasional short term 3 week focus, yes. As a long term developmental strategy this approach is overly simplistic and ineffective. GST is synergistic with all of the basic elements building off each other.

Why force yourself to run using only one foot when you have two?
