Chris H Laing
So today, 2 weeks into my first steady state cycle using tuck back lever, while just playing on my rings in the basement, I got a 1 sec straddle back lever hold!!!But for the split second I held it, my left elbow felt like it was gunna explode. Over time will my elbows become more conditioned to this kind of stress, or should I do some kind of elbow conditioning work to help them along. I still have 6 weeks lefts in this first SSC, and will probably be using adv tuck bl for the next cycle, but still...extra elbow work. Yes or no? Coach Sommer
You are placing the elbow under too much pressure for your current level of strength. If you continue, you are going to develop tendonitis. My recommendation is to change your BL position from straddle down to whichever position you can hold for a 5-10 seconds. Remember that this is not a race and there is no rush. Always be sure to give your body ample time to adjust to the new training loads being placed upon it.Yours in Fitness,Coach Sommer
Chris H Laing
Thanks coach! I wont be doing my training with str bl for at least six more weeks, and maybe up to 6 plus another 8 for the next cycle.
