Pain in forearms with advanced frog stand

Hi all,

When I do advanced frog stand on parallettes, everything works fine until I try to come down from the position. When I release the parallettes, I feel a lot of pain in both my forearms along the ulna bone (the bone running from the pinky finger up to the elbow joint).

It seems as if something is being stretched along the length of the ulna, and when I release the stretch it feels (quite) painful.

To be clear: I don't feel anything while in the advanced frog stand, it's only when I come out of it that I get this pain. I'm sometimes scared to come out of the adv. frog stand, simply because of the pain.

It's not a pain in one specific location, it's along the entire length of the ulna and it's in both arms. Most of the pain stops after 10-20 seconds, after coming out of the adv. frog stand.

I've been doing advanced frog stands for about a month now, two times a week, but the pain doesn't seem become less.

What can be the cause of this?

Thanks,

Mark

Sounds like forearm splints.

Quite popular ;), you're not yet ready for the load.

Most important, take some time off from exercises that put a pressure on your wrist/forearm, let it heal. Week off should bring significant difference, from there put load on the wrist back in a controlled way, maybe back off a bit if pain will be coming back, eventually it will get better/stronger if you don't abuse it.

Thanks for the reply.

I did some more searching and came up with this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1578

It describes exactly the same problem as I have!

From what I read, massage and rice bucket exercises seem to be able to solve the problem. I'll give that a try!
