Andrew Long
Hej everyone,I am just wondering what peoples limiting factor/s when learning press to hand stands are/were. Weak muscles such as the traps shoulders or back? flexibility or perhaps just balance? for me it seems to be all of the above =P but that is because I am not really ready for it.I have tried the leaning into the wall presses but I think my shoulders are just too weak to hold that position when I try it. the headstand RLL is pretty easy though. cheers =)
Eric Heiden
What I have seen suggested is incrementally adding padding under the head in the press to Headstand. I'm in the same boat where my traps go crazy when I hit the right position, as well as limiting flexibility.
Alessandro Mainente
if you watch in digital coaching is made a comparison between the beginning of my press to hs and on what i had worked.i rewrite here for your:strength:-traps-lower back-shoulders-elevators of scapulas-hips flexors/abs-forearms flexorsflexibility:-pancake flexibility-lower back flexibility-hamstring flexibility-shoulders extensionall of them can be a limiting factor for press to hs development
Andrew Long
hejthanks for the info! But I was more trying to see individual peoples problems like for example with me its shoulder strength and my lack of flexibility in my backside. someone else might just be balance or some one might have trouble with lower back strength but have solid shoulders. just for the sake of curiosity as to what held people back and what they had to work on individually.
