False grip with Ring grips?

I've been starting to work Kip Ls on still rings and I remember Coach Sommer's tutorial about Kip to L. I can easily do one with a false grip without my ring grips, but when i put on my ring grips, keeping a false grip is the hardest thing ever. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions?

I haven't tried ring grips, but have recently been experimenting with HB Grips. Its a matter of getting used to them, start with doing some simple routines give the grips time to break in and yourself time to get the feel.

my ring grips are broken in, i've used them for backuprises and handstand bails plenty of time. i just never needed a kip in my routine so i never really needed to have a false grip.

Joshua Naterman

Gregor (both of them actually) have stated several times that false grip, and several other things, are a good bit harder with ring grips than without, because you literally have a thicker handle to grip on. You're going to have to build your false grip strength just like you would for a naked hand false grip: start with rows, move to pull ups, then muscle ups. At that point you should be fine for your kip.

part of the trick is to open your hand, roll your fingers super far around the rings so that your wrists are on top of the rings, then firmly close your grip

harder to find but much more stable grip
