MatthewM
What are some good exercises for this? I can do a bent arm tucked press to handstand easy. but the straight arm, I get to a tuck planche, and can't go any higher.I am thinking negatives freestanding and against a wall, and also going from a l sit, then pressing as close to a handstand as I can, then lowering myself back to a l sit, for reps.Maybe some front raises?Or, should I just keep working my simple press to handstands? Along with handstand pushups.I was also considering doing the straight arm press with a little push from my legs, to reduce the force needed, and get more used to the motion? Thanks,Matt
Blairbob
Handstand, lower down to kneeling on your ankles, knees tucked under you. Jump press to HS from kneeling on your ankles. Eventually, less jump. L to tuck planche I have kids to jump press from kneeling to HS as one of the first progressions toward a press HS. It's a bit tougher than just doing a piked donkey kick punch off the floor to handstand or doing that with straddle legs ( jumping straddle press to HS ).
