Neal Winkler
With any physical endeavor, be it strength or endurance, gains are most rapid in the beginning and over time begin to plateau. At this point the ratio of gain to time invested becomes far less than previous. So, I was wondering at what point this is true of gymnastics training (e.g. I'm 5'9", so what skills do you think this will start to occur)? How does gymnastics compare to weightlifting? Does it plateau earlier or later? As far as the initial slope of greatest gains, do you think the slope of gains is greater, lesser, or equal to weightlifting? Razz
To be honest I think it comes quite late, because in the beginning you will be holding back a lot on the FSP stuff doing ½ your max to condition joints, while still working bent arm strength. Then once you have build a good base you start going into harder positions and not doing the half max holds but rather more intense stuff.. I'm 100% certain I have not hit 'the wall' yet, and I won't for anonther couple of years!
John Sapinoso
it's more of an S curve for gymnastics and the more drastic slope being for gymnastics rather than weight lifting.
