The parallel bar work + ring work sub?

Hey guys, I haven't bought the gymnastic bodies yet but I plan to get it in the future.

I was wondering if there was a way to do the parallel bar work and the ring work without... that exact equipment...

I have access to a iron gym pull up bar but I was wondering if maybe some or a lot of the parallel bar stuff I may be able to somehow get done without a set up parallel bar set, also for future reference... if I do get a parallel bar is their a set that you can just put together that is relatively inexpensive?

Also the ring work, is there a way to improvise or do something that would work the body the same way the rings do?

Part of the reason im asking is one of my goals within a workout structure (bodyweight) is to be able to do pretty much my entire workout wherever I am a minimalist approach basically.... like I would want to be able to do my workout anywhere from in a hotel to just outside on the ground/using nature (pull ups from tree branches)....

And also to be able to do my workout in an efficient time period, I.E. don't want to workout for 2 hours every-day with gymnastic stuff. I also plan on continuing to run.

Any advice here?

If its not really feasible to do stuff without the parallel bars/rings I understand but I figured id ask anyway.

Thanks guys

You can get by without anything fancy. If you look in the equipment forum you can see some nice examples of things folks here have made. But for PB's you can just use a couple of chairs to do quite a bit.

You can also do the same for rings. Slizzardman for example has some he made from heated pvc pipe, chain and movers hold down strapping. Check his latest workout video in todays WOD. Even simpler you can make a TRX style system with strapping and a couple of short pieces of pvc. You can also find some interesting ideas on Google

You can be for sure very strong without rings or anything if you work on the hardest exercise only with your body, but that doesnt mean that you will be strong on the rings, but rings are a such a great tool for strength, and for most of us here in the forum, ( I presume that most of us are not a gymnast nor do we want to competing - maybe I want to entry in a history like a most old gymnast in my country 8) when I start to compete in a couple of years  ), working with the rings is something new and very challenging but incredibly fun, so I took my rings outside and whenever I see a good looking tree, I put them on. If I go on a trip, rings goes with me.

Some version of rings, preferably the Xtreme Rings but possibly a home-made version like mine or even something simpler like cutting a 5 inch piece of 1" schedule 40 PVC and running a strap, rope or chain through it is plenty at first. Just make sure you use adjustable straps and sand the edges so they are rounded on the pipe!

For parallel bars/dip bars, you should either make your own parallel bars or buy a pair of portable dip bars. They aren't all that great but they'll work, somewhat. You're still best off making metal parallel bars like what I have. It'll cost 120 bucks total to do all metal, and probably less if you do 4x4 uprights, and you'll be able to take them with you wherever you move to. It WILL be something of a fixed piece of equipment, since they are heavy, but you can do kips, plyo work, swinging dips, etc on them, all of which are essential things to be able to do if you plan on trying to take your body to the highest level!
