size of xtreme rings making support hold difficult?

Just got my xtreme rings yesterday. note: I'm a beginner (can do ring dips, almost a back lever, chins but no muscle up)

Previous to getting these rings I've been using the iron rings setup at our local public park.

I was able to do the support hold on the rings at the park but am unable to do so with the xtreme rings.

I think this is because the xtreme rings are noticably larger in diameter than the park rings and they sort of press onto my forearm in a way making it difficult for me to even get into the palms-facing forward position.

any suggestions? is it something I need to practice or should I look at getting smaller rings?

Well, there aren't really any rings on the market that are smaller than FIG dimensions. Bigger yes, smaller no-besides park and kindergarten program rings.

Just keep on working with the regular rings. There are plenty of other 6yo boys in gymnastics who work with the same dimension rings and have hands about 1/2 your size.

Cheers, will stick with them and hope that after more practice, it becomes possible
