Craig Dennis
Hi all I sit at a desk all day and want to avoid any problems that this can cause. I have set alarms to get up every hour and walk about. I want to implement some stretching every hour. Can anyone suggest any stretches that I could do to help prevent any damage from sitting. Ideally this would be something that I could do in a toilet as I am not sure what the boss or my colleagues would think if I was stood in the office doing some sort of stretches. Any advice would be welcome and sorry if this is not the right place to post my question. Thanks Craig 1
Alessandro Mainente
HI Craig, generally the hips flexor, abs, hamstring, and chest become tight pretty soon. Also consider that light stretch it is not enough to balance hours and hours of sitting for a week over week, month to month and year to year. the stretch must be deeper and more dedicated. The stretch courses are highly recommended. 3

Excellent question Craig. We need to be the ones doing the embarrassing or weird things to change the work place environment. Remember, there was once a time when sitting at a desk for hours at a time was looked at as very weird. -Ryan 2
Tanya Hill
Hi Craig, One thing I do for maintaince..... is add two to three stretches on my todo list everyday. For example: 2 minute standing pike, 2 lunge, 2 minute achilles. I do these stretches everyday no warm up needed and how can you not have time for a quick 2-4 minute stretch. Of course it doesn’t have to be these stretches and you can rotate them every two weeks. During the week also do the full stretch course, but this is good up keep.
