Handstand Alignment + Hyperextended Elbows

Hi,

I have hyperextended elbows, so I am unable to get into a perfect handstand. I have always done closed-shoulde handstand and just recently tried to open up my shoulders (I am flexible enough). However I noticed, that it is impossible for me to completly open my shoulders and maintain a straight body line.

So my Handstand looks something like this:

If would open my shoulders, I'd have to lean a bit, to maintain balance:

So, what is the correct form of doing handstand with hyperextended elbows?

Thanks in advance

The correct form is to not hyperextend your elbows and make sure everything is still in a straight line.

It's better to leave the elbows unlocked than to have the shoulder girdle closed some.

Hard to say from the drawings, but it may be that you are over rotating your arm. Try to keep the inner elbows facing each other and the balance will be brought more into the mid line as well as being a healthier alignment for the shoulders.
