Posted February 26, 2010 Share Posted February 26, 2010 i dont know if this is a stupid question or what, but seriously, could any body give me any tips or exercises to spin faster? its really bugging me cos i look like im taking the time in the air to have a cup of tea and a wave at someone rather than trying to spin! also when i refer to spin, i mean like 360, 540 and 900 type of spin. not the rotation involved in front/back someys. pauley Posted March 7, 2010 Share Posted March 7, 2010 start with just jumping twists see what you can get but shoulders flcik one shoulder back and another forward ( depending on what direction you spin ) i can only 540 jumping but 360 front flip into a foam pit i was absolutely shocking but then a gymnast taught me to use the shoulders effieciently so just do that and hopefully it should help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Blairbob Posted March 10, 2010 Share Posted March 10, 2010 You need to think about extension at both ends of the body when twisting. This means the bottom foot or feet and the head and shoulders. Not just one part but both. As well, you can do a trampolinist twist technique where you start your arms wide and bring them close into the body while initiating the twist.
