Yo!

Just thought it would be cool to see everyones goals for 2010.

mine:

rehab shoulder completely and stay injury free from then.

Iron cross

Rings straddle planche

Double back pike on floor

Layout tsukahara, possibly start twisting?

2 minute free standing ring handstand

Get into a gymnastics college team or find a place where I can start practicing 5-6 times a week more seriously!

Ill stop here, of course there's more i'd like to attain but these are probably the main goals. Yes i'm god damn optimistic lol :D

I'm in my 2nd year of gymnastics, and this is what I want to accomplish:

1. A decent pommel horse routine with consistent circles

2. Back/Front Lever

3. Straddle Planche

4. Iron Cross

5. 1~2 min freestanding HS

6. The most important: to qualify for State! (high school gymnastics)

It would be great to achieve the full back and front lever, a strong L and straddle L, and a full planche. But my goal in this year is to reach the Straddle Planche: oooh my god that's my dream. That FSE is so beautiful to me: another expression of strenght and grace.

1. Front lever (currently at one leg bent, one straight)

2. Back lever (barely holding flat tucked)

3. Muscle up

4. Iron cross (hopefully before next semester)

5. Straddle planche (same. Somewhere around tuck right now)

6. Freestanding HePU then HSPU

7. Consistent stalder press (so also better straddle L. On good days I could do 2 stalder presses provided the floor was hard)

8. Consistent free handstand (best last time I checked was 20 seconds)

I seem to have a lot.

I have a few but the main goal is the one arm chin.

And maybe a full additional bodyweight dip. Has anyone here tried it? I did a rep with 50 kg extra without big trouble, weighing 75 kg. Some dip training and I hope to be able to do it. :)

Another goal is to do something every day. If I'm too worn out at least do some stretching or a short jog. My resting days often tend to multiply into three or four, so keeping the wheel rolling will help. With caution of wearing myself out of course...

I have isolated three strength goals that are my main focus

1. front lever

2. back lever

3. straddle/pike press HS

all other bent and straight arm conditioning will not have very specific goals but will merely be treated as preparation for these and future strength skills (planche and cross will come in once I have mastered these three but I am expecting at least a year before that). Having said that I would like to get my HSPUs lower, experiment with harder pull up and push up variations as well as actually being able to do dips so I can get muscle up.

in other goals I would like to be able to to get my side and straddle splits closer to 180 and get my bridge a lot better. I would also like to be able to dislocate and inlocate through skin the cat and back pull position on rings.

I will try to be less ambitious than I have been previously when setting goals.

2010:

Primary goal: Get rid of current injuries and inflamations. Increased focus on pre-hab and re-hab.

1. Straddle Planche (current adv. tuck)

2. Straddle Front Lever (currently struggling with the One Leg Front Lever)

3. Consistent OAC training

4. Solidify free standing handstand

5. Try to increase explosive leg strength

1. Adv. Tuck planche

2. Arms like Kratos  (Not really, just strong wrists and elbows.)

3. Solid Back lever

4. Front Split

5. Find a "real" gym to practice in

Whoop to the new years.

I'm actually a little afraid of setting goals... I'm afraid I''ll set them too high.

Anyways:

- Solid free handstand

- Press to handstand (at least from standing)

- Front/back lever

- Planche

- Backtuck

- Back handspring

I have no idea how long it will take to develop the levers and the planche, but I am pretty sure it will take more than a year. I hope to at least move closer to it; a flat tuck or one leg bend version would be nice.

1) Consistent strength training through SSCs

2) Improve my passive and active pike, straddle and bridge flexibility

3) 10s of advanced tuck planche

4) 60s L-sit

5) 20s of free-standing HS

6) 10 reps HeSPU

7) 10s of advanced tuck BL and FL

I want to train other stuff as well (other gymnastic FBE/FSP, and some capoeira-skills) but these would be the main goals. I might reach some of them easily, and others.. maybe not! :D
