Jefferson Curls question

I noticed that when some people do Jefferson Curls, they tend to lean their hips back, so that they could get their head closer to the knee, and also makes the exercise easier. Someone told me that my hips should lean forward more, so that my weight is on the top portion of my foot. It DOES feel alot tougher that way, so I just want to check if this is correct, since it wasn't mentioned in the Technique videos

I remember that during one seminar Coach Sommer told me that one step at time must be completed. for a normal people perform a deep pike it is impossible. jefferson curl highly involve both hamstring, glutes and calves. if you are very tight how do you suppose to stretch all at the same time? simply impossible, too much tension and the body refuses to relax.

On the other side if you lean back you can take off the calves from the equation and the hamstring can relax, this is the first and only one variation that I used to do with very tight clients. then when a good deep and compression it is achieved with this backward lean then you can increase forward hip position in order to engage more the calves.

One step at time, 'rome wasn't build in a day'.

Can anyone guide me as to a recommended weight to use. Currently using a 16k kb. Is there a goal % of BW to achieve?
