OliveStrip Posted December 18, 2009 Share Posted December 18, 2009 Coach Sommer,I have seen a lot of talk in these forums about post workout nutrition, but I am wondering what your opinions on the subject are. I know you wrote an article about the importance of eating all natural foods. You said your wife's family are very long lived because they eat no sugar or processed foods. My question is should this same principle be applied to post workout nutrition? I only ask because I know it has been well researched that consuming high glycemic index carbohydrates post workout yield the best results in terms of muscle building, glycogen storage, and recovery. Is this time a good exception to the rule or should we still be consuming natural foods post workout? What are you thoughts on the matter?Anyone else have any opinions? Thanks again.
