Jochen, I'm really not trying to make you hate me, but this is no where near HBP PE3, yet. ![]()
Lets roll back and clean up HBP PE2 first. Then revisit this.
First objective is to tighten your core, your letting your back arch and we'd like this to be straight body, even slightly hollow.
Haha, don´t worry - that´s why i ask and post the video to make sure i don´t compromise my progress in the long view
Should i post a PE2 Video?
The only way to find out if your form is correct on any exercise is to post a video unless you have an offline coach. If there's any doubt it is better to check rather than waste time training volume with poor form.
Yes please post a form check for PE 1 & 2, that could save some time if there are any major issues with PE2.
here ist my PE 2 - too bad i wasn´t able to stream the videos when working out so couldn´t double check with instructors. Have this problem ever day lately. Will attach another attempt of PE 3 in the next post.
and here the next attempt of PE3 - better?
Ok, this along with your sPL/PE3 post are very helpful.
I think general strength wise your doing ok with your push ups, but the body line needs to be cleaned up before moving on.
The body line here and in sPL/PE3 will be virtually identical.
The main issue is learning to keep a tight core so your lower most ribs also don't' touch the floor and at the same time flatten the line so your hip are closer to the floor.
Ideally the bottom ribs and hip will lie on the same horizontal line.
One other detail is in GST we want to have the feet together, which is an easy fix.
You did a great job of creating PPT so now it's adding this and you should be good to go.
Thank you very much @Cole Dano
First is more piked - is it too much?
This one is flatter - good or too flat? which one is closer to correct? Thank you
2nd one is far better, believe it or not, even it is too piked, but it just falls in the 'acceptable' range.
Ideally we'd like that same line with PPT which will produce a flat lower back.
Thank you very much @Cole Dano, will try to get it better!!
is form improving or should i try to add more PPT?
Hi Jochen
Yes, PPT and keep leaning while you move up and down with strong protraction at the top
Thank you very much! A problem is that my feet in socks slip over the wooden floor - maybe i should use a mat or wear shoes
I completely agree with Cole and Petri. You definitely need a strong protraction and posterior pelvic tilt. Avoid developing a bad habit of arching your lower back because you will only get stuck in the harder progressions. Remember, only count the good reps. If you feel you're losing your PPT and protraction then stop the set.
does this look better or still too arched?
better line yes but you need more protraction on top. how is your planche lean coming along?
feels better, but i am not really sure about the correct form @Leo Trinidad:
I would want to correct the hat little bit of arch that's still there before worrying about hips lower. In fact I'd also consider going to normal toes under until the other key details are worked out.
Also, think about turning your elbows to face even more backwards and "sucking" your shoulder blades onto your back as they are really sticking out.
The sPL work will also really help with all of this.
Thank you very much @Cole Dano. This form is giving me a hard time, i just don´t get the feeling for it
Jochen,
Check out this post that @Alessandro Mainente posted on my HBP/PE 3 question. Maybe it will help you understand the form these guys are talking about. Here is the link to that thread.
Thank you Jeremy, will work through your post!
Did go back one step to PE2- did put special effort on arching the upper back while keeping my abs strong - feels weird. Also tried to suck my shoulder blades in at the bottom. Does this look better? i have the feeling i pike more - but that is what happens when i contract my abs. when i go up and don´t engage the core it looks less piked...
The starting position is good but you're not bringing your hips down along with your chest. This causes tilting forward and loss of PPT.
