Hi all gymnastic bodies ! :)

I have a quite ripped/muscular physique and i don't really like that, i look like an excited bodybuilder.

So if i want to be less lean, on wich food should i put the emphazis ? and is it healthy to do that ?

my actual diet is gluten, sugar and (almost) meat free, with ton of vegetables and unsatured fats.

thank you in advance!

While I'm really confused by your desire to not be ripped, if you want to gain weight, just eat more.  If you find it a struggle to eat more, then go for more calorie dense foods.  You may have t bend the rules of your diet, but if you really want to gain weight, you'll make it work.

Clearly, this is a problem with your diet.   If you'd like to put on fat, you should adopt a standard American diet and be sure to eat fast food at least 3 times per week.   You'll get fat in no time!    To accelerate things, stop exercising and start sitting on the couch more.

GOMAD is often used for putting on a lot of weight fast. Some people found they became lactose intolerant as a result though.

Beer is super effective for the dad bod look as well.

Basically; drink your calories.

I dont see the point of adding unfunctional mass if your goal is to be as strong as possible in gymnastics.

More carbohydrates and fat should do the job.

Wow.

I can't believe you asked that question.  Its only slightly better than "Hey guys, how do I get less strong? I dont like to be able to do so many chin ups"

Just wrap everything in bacon.

I would suggest getting a job where you have to sit at a desk all day.  It helps me from looking too fit.

I must have the same genes as Bosco, I cannot get fat, no matter what, but I think it stems from being too hyper.

Also, watch more TV, play more video games, get older, get married, and have children.  All effective tools for reducing the likelihood of having a muscular physique.  It worked for several friends, even those who were naturally muscular and lean at first.  Lots of beer seemed to help them as well.

"For breakfast you need to eat four of those breakfast sandwiches from McDonalds. I don’t care which ones you get, but make sure to get four. Order four hash browns, too. Now grab two packs of mayonnaise and put them on the hash browns and then slip them into the sandwiches. Squish that shit down and eat. That’s your breakfast.

For lunch you’re gonna eat Chinese food. Now I don’t want you eating that crappy stuff. You wanna get the stuff with MSG. None of that non-MSG bullshit. I don’t care what you eat but you have to sit down and eat for at least 45 minutes straight. You can’t let go of the fork. Eat until your eyes swell up and become slits and you start to look like the woman behind the counter.

For dinner you’re gonna order an extra-large pizza with everything on it. Literally everything. If you don’t like sardines, don’t put ’em on, but anything else that you like you have to load it on there. After you pay the delivery guy, I want you to take the pie to your coffee table, open that fucker up, and grab a bottle of oil. It can be olive oil, canola oil, whatever. Anything but motor oil. And I want you to pour that shit over the pie until half of the bottle is gone. Just soak the shit out of it.

Now before you lay into it, I want you to sit on your couch and just stare at that fucker. I want you to understand that that pizza right there is keeping you from your goals.

Now you’re on the clock, After 20 minutes your brain is going to tell you you’re full. Don’t listen to that shit. You have to try and eat as much of the pizza as you can before that 20-minute mark. Double up pieces if you have to. I’m telling you now, you’re going to get three or four pieces in and you’re gonna want to quit. You fucking can’t quit. You have to sit on that couch until every piece is done.

And if you can’t finish it, don’t you ever come back to me and tell me you can’t gain weight. ’Cause I’m gonna tell you that you don’t give a fuck about getting bigger and you don’t care how much you lift!”

it's like when you ask a bit unconventionnal  question, fitness enthousiast's brain completely deactivate and they start to yell at you all sort of stupid things. (I must recognize that i appreciate your sense humor :D)

But Please read my first post again, i don't want to destroy my body, i would like to be a bit less lean, if it's impossible without significantely affecting my health and my performance, then nevermind !

so basically something like a bulk should do the job ?

Essentially what I said in the first response.  To bulk you need to eat more.  To eat more you may need to make choices that don't fit entirely with your current diet.  You'll need calorie dense foods to be able to eat enough to gain weight.  You can still be reasonably healthy while doing that though.

Some helpful options:

Cook in butter or other oils low in Polyunsaturated fats (i.e. Olive, canola, Macadamia, coconut)

Full fat dairy (Greek Yogurt is awesome here.  Low in lactose, lots of protein)

Fatty cuts of meat from pastured animals (go for lean meat if eating normal store meat)

Nuts and seeds (but again watch out for high PUFA intake.  Macadamia nuts and pumpkin seeds are great)

Starchy vegetables.  Go ahead and enjoy those white potatoes.  While you're at it, enjoy your white rice as well.

Hope that helps as a more serious answer.  Clean bulking is hard, but it can be done.

I was serious when I mentioned GOMAD, Google it and you'll see a lot of people doing it to put on weight fast. I think chocolate milk has a better P/C/F profile but is more expensive.

A traditional bulk would obviously work but can be a chore if you're trying to do it "clean". IIFMM is a lot more flexible but people can turn what's meant to be moderate junk intake into a dirty bulk.

Basically; drink your calories.

I don't think you can become lactose intolerant from drinking milk.  You either have the gene that allows for adult lactose digestion, or you don't.  If you do have the gene but stop drinking milk for long enough your body may stop producing lactase, making you intolerant of it.  Your body may start producing lactase again if it needs to.  Drinking milk won't change your genes, and it can only perpetuate or trigger lactase production, not halt it.

Although...

I suppose it is conceivable that a gallon of milk per day would exceed a normal person's lactase production, giving the appearance of lactose intolerance, when the lactase production just can't keep up.  In that case, a more moderate dose might work.

And for the OP:

Drink some calories.
