Brad,  as previously noted,  you are entitled to your opinion. The statement that not having insurance is tantamount to a death sentence in the USA  remains an ignorant   and hyperbolic  statement by someone with some other agenda , or  who spouts off  without thinking.

You have provided no information supporting that  remark.    Nothing you have written after your first offhand comment changes that, or should convince  anyone  who is even marginally familiar with what we do.   Some people who drive cars get killed in accidents; by your logic, driving a car means a  "death sentence".

Since you believe  a mention of something in the media is equivalent to a measure of importance or even veracity, turn on the TV , in your spare time, and you'll get an earful every night about the status of health care in California and the USA - there is  no need for me to respond to any 'wider' community.

Gentlemen,

Focus on the subject at hand; someone has suffered a catastrophic injury.

You may continue to quibble about the state of healthcare in the US privately via PM.

Yours in Fitness,

Coach Sommer

Too much weight? Kevin's snatch PR is 265# which is 120kg. Decent for someone who would be a 94kg lifter and decent because the highest snatches in CF are around 140kg these days above 300#.

The weight I've heard Kevin was lifting was 235#.

There is some disagreement whether Kevin might have had an unknown spinal fracture that gave way during the lift and that is why he went into seizure while still upright. Yes, he does fall on the bar behind him but it seems he goes into seizure when he is still upright.

I think donations are now over 200k and CFHQ has announced they will chip in with a sizeable donation. He has been approved for medical insurance.

He still probably has bills to pay for besides day to day expenses and the fact that it will be some time before he will be working again. Medical insurance probably may only pay 90% of stuff.
