Preparatory phase

So I was reading about periodization and ran across preparatory/hypertrophy/strength/power phases..

What sort of training would be a preparatory phase for gymnastics / general calisthenics?

Foundation 1-4.

Then a dual focus on max strength (rings) and dynamic strength (plyometric, dynamic, etc).

Edit;

I don't know what a preparatory phase is, but my guesstimation is it's pretty much covered by Coach's definition of 'basic strength'.

It was more a general strength question not based on the F series

well, that was kind of it :)

"preparation" for rope climbing would be anything having to do with pulling work before actually getting to the rope, if that was what you were asking.

or if you were going to do ring work, you'd want to "prepare" the shoulder girdle, elbows, wrists for ring work.

ballet- calve and hip girdle preparation.

it would be all the work you'd be doing to supplement the specific work you'd be doing. rock climbing will make you better at rock climbing but rock climbing and upto a certain point, training your fingers and your pull strength will "prepare" you for harder climbs. (this is all relative)

I think he's asking about the specific cycles or periodized waves that gymnasts run in the buildup to competition.
