It is Autumn here and its like raining every day ( I hate rain so much that I want to punch it in the face )

And since im training outside I am worried to bring out my rings into the rain.

I have wooden rings.

Any advice on how I can protect them ?

And can the straps withstand humidity?

You have a few options I would say,

A) Use something other than rings for your movements, unless they require rings (rows can be done on a lowly racked barbell)

B) Wait until it is not raining, or it clears up a bit.

C) Find a place to hang them inside (or covered patio-type area) or a gym to do so.

DO NOT take wooden rings in the rain. Also, do not store wooden rings outside.

Paint it.

Use a wood primer on the bare wood.

Then after the primer has dried, use a paint that is designed for outdoors like ones used on fences and window sills. That second layer will protect against rain, snow, insect attacks and bullshit thrown at it.

For the third layer, use a paint that'll protect the wood from rough handling. Especially if you're gonna do muscles ups and giants on it. And constantly being rubbed against the straps.

Profit.

I posted this in another thread as well, but in case you missed it - a high quality marine spar varnish is the best you can use. It is a pain to apply correctly and a ton of work, but is better than anything else out there by far.
