Ralph Palutke
Hey guys, can someone tell what is the proper scapula position in an inverted hang?I'm pretty shure we shouldn't retract them, but i'm not sure if we should be in a hollow body position with shoulders protracted or in a straight line (with shoulders in a natural position). so longp5yx
Joshua Slocum
Your shoulders should not be taut. Your body should be straight, not arched or hollowed, and you should be looking either straight ahead or slightly down (towards the floor). Your scapula will naturally depress due to gravity; they should neither retract or protract.

Joshua Slocum
What does the inverted hang train ?Mostly it trains being comfortable while upside down. It's also a good body position to master because its an intermediate position for several skills.
Timothy Aiken
If you like to have fun with it as I do then you can do it with a very wide grip on things other than rings. To do that trains general proprioception and makes you even more comfortable upside down. Plus it's quite fun. I do it on playground bridges like this: http://womensfitnessworkouts.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/007.jpg. It doesn't train many muscles, it just gives you some balance and sense of being upside down. P.S - BBC Code is being all trippy with me, are there restrictions set here? Afiya Zia
If we turn the rings out in an inberted hang then it still won't condition anything? Because that way it would resemble an upside-down support.
