Andrew DiMIcelli
Sorry if there are already threads on this but my search did not turn them up I have been doing the static holds and basic strength work from BtGB book and need rings to move on to some of the other exercises. My problem is, if I get rings, i have absolutely no where to hang them. There are no gymnastics facilities near me and I can't figure out how I would be able to set up rings. Has anyone built some sort of stand to hang rings outside? The ceilings in my home are too low and there is not enough room anywhere, anyway. Thanks for any suggestions
Andrew DiMIcelli
I just realized there is an equipment section, can someone delete or move my thread, please?
Kate Abernethy
Maybe attach a pull up bar to an outside wall and attach the rings to that? Cover up the bar and remove the rings in bad weather. Joshua Slocum had his on a tree at one point (see 0:13 and 0:30):
Andrew DiMIcelli
Wouldn't the bar have to be really far out and high as well to leave enough clearance fromt he ground, wall, and bar?

Kate Abernethy
That's quite likely as I've been reading all over the forums picking up the advice and tips. Will empty your wastebasket when I'm ever in Massachusetts
Andrew DiMIcelli
I just spotted a very tall tree in a neighbors yard with a sturdy looking branch about 20 feet off the ground. I will ask if I can use this. Would it work to just throw the rings over this tree and make a loop. I'd have to put it up and take it down every time I need to use the rings as well.. Good story and a great illustration of the absolute necessity for excellent form and meticulous execution in GST.
