I have never supplemented with Amino Acids or Protein Powder, etc. BUT the more meat/protein I eat the better I recover simple as that. I think I was a little rash before, I think Fish Oil is extremely good but I think I the number 1 supplement is gonna vary person to person. At the moment the most important thing for me is zinc and magnesium, because I am working out in a [degrees]+40[/degrees]© temperatures (heat wave) and I sweat a lot. So mineral replacement is pretty big for me at the moment.
