John Sapinoso
Does anyone do those side levers that are on the main page?I've tried them before, with some success (see pic), but never really incorporated it my workout to build strength.Could I get some insight on how to work up to it? here's what i was thinking:similar progressions that coach sommer posted for planchestuck, open tuck & straddleafter that maybeside grip v-ups and negatives down?I also saw a video of someone doing pull ups in that position but that looks like it's harder.here's a pic from a while ago, i don't think i was doing it right.(i had a mouthful of water for some weird reason)
George Launchbury
Hi,I can't speak from personal experience ...as I'm a loooong way off from the Flag ...but I remembered seeing these, and found them interesting. I imagine there are many approaches. Since no-one else has replied, I thought it might help?Beastskills.comhttp://www.beastskills.com/Flag.htmDominic Lacassehttp://www.metacafe.com/watch/345545/acrobatic_training_2_the_flag/I have seen a compilation video on youTube of Dominic performing pushups in this position, as well as some other feats of strength. This appears to be one of a series of 'tutorials' that I he seems to have produced to help promote his training DVDs(?).Neither of them appeared to have a mouthful of water, though. That could be the secret!? Cheers,George.
StevenL
I too, would like to know some specific exercises to work up to this kind of a lever. Coach's book is going to sell out so quick when it hits.
kbryk
I've had problems with my chunky legs from squatting, so I've been really working on obliques, I first started doing wide handstand push ups, and lots of other little shoulder workouts with weights that seem to be helping.
