L-sit press to Hs on rings

Ok so I have been curious about this for some time and i noticed that even people who go to the olympics don't seem to do it.  When people do a l-sit press to HS on rings, everyone seems to do a bent arm press.  Still, extremly difficult, but i was w3ondering has anyone ever done a straddle or l-sit press with straight arms on rings?  Or is it not possible?

thanks!

Very possible. It's funny, I think I have the opposite experience and have seen more straight arm press handstands than BA in routines.

With a piked body it is a B skill I believe, straight arm-straight body is a C I want to say but that one I'm not actually sure about :-)

I can do a straddle press on rings with straight arms. However, the hollow-back press is much easier (both for me and everyone I've talked to about it), and counts for the same amount. So my guess would be that no one bothers to do a straight-arm press because it's harder, yet not hard enough to warrant additional credit.

Most pros don't do any presses and those who do mostly prefer the hollowback press as Hari already said. But there are also some people who do the straight arm one. I know some and there are also some pros who do it. I think Danny Rodriguez for example.

Good call. I remember Danny often doing straddle SA presses. When it comes to the SA presses I've heardit helps to turn the rings out and strongly lift the hips without leaning towards a planche during the lift, which obviously would make it harder.

Leaning into more of a planche would be a necessity for straight arm-straight body presses I believe.

I ended up talking to my coach about this today, because it was tangentially related to improving my straddle planche. The problem I've been having with my straight-arm straddle press was that I *did* turn the rings out. This greatly decreases stability, because you can't use your wrists as much for balance. When I kept the rings parallel during the press, I was able to go right up to handstand without much difficulty.  I still think it's a bit harder than a hollow back, though.
