Migfer88
my workout today. Holds Handstand against wall 10 sec work - 50 sec rest x 5 setsplanche frogstand 10 sec work - 50 sec rest x 5 sets Pushups total 100 reps plank 10sec work - 10sec rest x 10 set cardio went out and jog for about 30 min with my dogs. my goals: stronger and better in FSP and FBE. FSP= L-sit / Handstand / planche FBE = muscleups / Pullups / pushups variations / Handstand press. how often should i do these exercises and how should i combine the FSP and FBE? my idea is to increase the work time and maintain/decrease the rest time after a while, maybe 1-3 times per month. Anders Alexandersson
I'm a beginner in gymnastic myself and this forum is a great start, I find! Another site I recommend for general fitness is Rosstraining.com. Of your listed goals, mastering the planche is the most difficult. Gradually build up your body. For how long have you exercised regularly at the level you describe? How many times a week? Doing 100 regular pushups typically is a lot harder than <2 mins of holding a forearm plank, for example, so it sounds like you have a typical imbalance in strength between front and back. Recently, the "Foundation One" training course became available here on this site. I just purchased "Foundation One" and it's great for strength training! Later this month, the "Handstand One" training course will also be available. Have you looked into these new training courses?
Quick Start Test Smith
Hi Migfer88. Welcome to the forums! First thing first, doing your own reading is very well rewarded here. Reading carefully through the Getting Started and Basic Strength (really, almost all the major subforums) will get you far. You will still have to figure a lot out by yourself and you will still have to figure out your own program. But you have alternatives to doing. Coach Sommer has recently released the first course in strength in a series called Foundation. Foundation 1 is everything you need as a beginner. It is effectively the pinnacle of systematized Gymnastic Strength Training™ (GST) for the beginner and the advanced. There will be four Fundamental products released, and if you follow all directions carefully you will "graduate" from F4 stronger than the average person many times over, you will be flexible, and you will be in the perfect position to train for even more advanced elements. I cannot encourage you to read about F1 and consider getting it enough. You will see that members like me, a member from 2009 with the book Building the Gymnastic Body (the first book released by Coach) have not progressed in THREE YEARS from my own crummy programming as much as I can reasonably expect to progress from a national gymnastic coach's state of the art program. Just so you know, F1-F4 are not books or educational programs. They have been crafted to be as simple as possible. If you learn the techniques, all you have to do is go through the program. You are asking questions like "how often should i do these exercises and how should i combine the FSP and FBE?". Your answer is literally "By following the exercise routine as set forth in F1-F4." Don't take my word for this. Just read all the comments about it! The forum has been waiting for something like this for an extremely long time and despite massive expectations, we were blown away by the simplicity and sheer ease of use it has.
